Obviously, the container handling in the sea harbours worldwide has reached a new all-time high. The German RWI and the institute for sea trade and logistics published an increase of the index to 119.7 points in September 2020.
This increase has its reason in the backlog of transports depending on the lockdown. Goods that couldn’t be carried are now transported during the last weeks.
Our customers and prospects are facing a severe problem in the last weeks and months for shippers. Due to the corona pandemic, it is not possible to do long-term tender or inquiries for transports.
Because of the volatile freight rates, conditions for longer lasting contracts are not negotiable. Shippers are experiencing that forwarders intentional refuse the participation in a tender, because an acceptation of a freight rate could bring them in economic difficulties in the future.
Friday last week efrexx was one of the participants of this virtual event of the AHK Italy. During this well prepared event we had already several interesting meetings with potential prospects as franchisee in Italy. Again, many thanks for the team of the AHK Italy for the excellent preparation of this event.
Kelvion, market leader in technology for industrial heat exchangers, emerged from the heat exchange division of the former GEA and looks back on a 100-year-history. The international company decided to take eFrexx as tender platform for transport services for all subsidiaries and plants worldwide.
After intensive tests with several plants, also from the US, France and the Czech Republic, eFrexx is glad to announce a long-lasting agreement with the Kelvion Group. This agreement includes already the subsidiaries and plants that will join the platform in the coming months.
We know Rudi already for some years working together successfully in several projects. Therefore, we are more than glad, that we could win him for our business development.
As soon as he joined us, he started with his well-known power to develop the market for eFrexx in the southern region of Germany.

The German-American Chamber of Commerce in New York organized a virtual business journey “NRW goes innovation: USA” for a delegation from Nov 9th – Nov 13th
Goal of this trip is to get information about the business chances for German companies and to get contacts to build up a network. This time it will be a online event.

On Oct, 29th, 2020 the German-Italian Chamber of Commerce (AHK Italy) hosts a virtual fair to bring Italian and German companies in contact.
eFrexx is one of the participants aiming to find franchisees in Italy.
“With a trade volume of more than 127 billion Euro in 2019 Germany is the most important trade partner for Italy. And Italy is 5th rank of trade partners to Germany.”, the AHK informed the participants of the event.
After the first year of eFrexx it was time to make a new concept of our website. We implemented a stronger splitting between the part for shippers and forwarders.
Also, the possibility to test eFrexx for 30 days at no costs was put more in the focus. New is the news area and very important for us the carrier section, because we need additional resources.
Finally, we’ve done it – besides our office on Ballindamm 3 in Hamburg, eFrexx opened its office in Duesseldorf on the famous shopping and business street, the Koenigsallee. You can find us on Koenigsallee 60f, 40212 Duesseldorf.

In Juliy2020 one of Europe’s largest mobile cranes has lifted in a spectacular action a bridge as connection between the old and the new building of the miniature wonderland in Hamburg, the world largest model railroad layout.
Founded in 2019 and one year on the market eFrexx is used by our customers in many countries worldwide for the procurement of transport services for sea, air and land freight.
Now with Singapore another country in Asia was added. After implementing our solution in Europe (i.e. Germany, France, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Great Britain) and USA the next step is the expansion to Asia. We prefer a franchise model, where companies establish the brand eFrexx in their home countries.
The order entry in the first half of 2020 have diminished around 16%, compared to the same period last year for the German engineering industry, said the VDMA (Organisation of engineering companies in Germany) last week. The reduction of orders from outside Germany was exceptionally.
The reason is not only the corona crisis, but also the trade dispute. The comparison is difficult, because the last year was extraordinarily good.

When we decided to develop a solution for savings of transport costs for shippers, we first had to choose the best software architecture.
Obvious was that Java is the base. But the existing development frameworks were too slow and “clumsy” for us. So our “softworkers” developed an own new framework.
The corona crisis stopped aviation nearly completely. The reduction of passenger flights had also large impact on air freight. Nearly 50% of all air freight was transported with passenger planes, because their net of destinations is larger and the flight frequency is higher.
In Corona times with a limited offer of flights the transport costs are much higher. The costs can be three times higher than the normal freight rates.
Corona brought severe losses for export-oriented companies. Compared to last year export decreased around 30%. These losses can’t be compensated in short term.
Surprisingly it is Denmark. APM-Maersk is first with 653 ships. Directly followed with a land without access to the sea – Switzerland. The shipping company MSC is second with 552 ships.
The French CMA CGM follows with 490 ships and COSCO from China is on rank four with 471 ships.
eFrexx was founded nearly a year ago and we are looking back on 12 busy and eventful year. Registered in July 2019 we are sure still a start-up, but our track record in logistics started more than 20 years ago.
We are glad that we found a very experienced sales for our team. Johannes is already an investor in eFrexx and will support our strategic sales. His focus is the akquisition of new industry customers for our eSoeurcing platform for transport services and the expansion of eFrexx to South and Middle America.
